You may have heard of chakras referred to spinning disks or wheels near your spine, but what the heck does that mean? I personally don’t feel anything like that in my body, but what I do feel sometimes is butterflies in my stomach, a broken heart or a lump in my throat. These are your chakras trying desperately to get you back into balance.
Ok, so there are many (and I mean MANY) theories on what chakras are, where they came from and what they do. It’s a pretty interesting topic, but for our purposes the complete history isn’t important – a basic understanding is all you need to begin to balance your chakras, which can balance your body, mind and soul.
Remember that everything in our world is made up of atoms, and only 1% of that atom is matter. The other 99% is space that is undiscovered at this time. That means that 99% of what's happening around us is undiscovered to the human eye at this point in our evolution.
What are chakras? The chakras are simply points in your body where energy of a particular frequency gathers. Chakras can become unbalanced if too much or not enough energy is being attracted to this area. This can cause in imbalance in your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual life. That’s it!
There are 7 main chakras (or points in your body) that seem to be located from the base of your spine to the top of your head. Each chakra corresponds with a different area in you physical, mental, emotional and spiritual states just because they attract that frequency of energy. Here’s a quick rundown of each chakra, where they’re located and what they attract.
1st Chakra (Root Chakra)
Location: base of Spine
Concerned with: stability, safety, security and your connection with your body
2nd Chakra (Sacral Chakra)

3rd Chakra (Solar Plexus Chakra)

Concerned with: ambition, motivation, and personal power
4th Chakra (Heart Chakra)

5th Chakra (Throat Chakra)
