Thai Yoga Therapy
This ancient healing modality was born from the wisdom of Ayerveda*-a traditional system of healing hailing from India which prescribes yoga, diet based on one's constitution, herbs, and massages as means to prevent and eliminate dis-ease in the physical, emotional, and spiritual body. The Thai Yoga Therapy series of acupressure points, compressions, and yoga stretches were uniquely designed by the physician to the Buddha to treat the meditating monastic community.
* translated literally from Sanskrit as "knowledge of life"
During a Session
Each Traditional Thai Session begins with a 5-10 minute aromatherapy footbath & homemade sugar scrub exfoliation. The bulk of the session is then given on a comfortable, sheeted Thai Mat with sufficient props nearby to ensure relief from any knee, hip, lower back, or neck discomfort.
*footbath is not counted in calculating session time & is seen as a healing precursor to the Thai Session
Each session takes on a meditative state where the energies and doshas** of the body become balanced. The client uses no effort and leaves each session renewed and relaxed with a fresh supply of oxygen to the muscles as the techniques and sequences enhance the circulation of blood, thus bringing nutrients to each cell and taking away harmful toxins and waste.
Thai Yoga Therapy is as unique as it is energizing. It is a way to bring one's body into balance from head to toe. An experience of this ancient, healing art form is awaiting you; why not book one today?
* * three vital bioenergies (vata, pitta, kapha) condensed from the five elements of nature; the doshas are responsible for the physical and emotional tendencies in the mind and body

About Hannah
Hannah Egner, RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher)
Traditional Thai Yoga Therapy Practitioner
The wide open spaces of Hannah's Central Wisconsin upbringing on a hobby farm supported and shaped her deep connection with nature and thirst for adventure. The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga serendipitously came into her life at the age of seventeen, with Yoga Teacher Certification (2007) and many months of volunteer teaching soon to follow at the Sivananada Ashram & Yoga Retreat in Nassau, Bahamas. Intrigued by the advice of Guru Sri Swami Sivanandaji that every yogi should visit India, she embarked on more culturally diverse life experiences by teacher assisting a yoga teacher training in the Sivananda Ashram located in Kerala, South India (2009).
Since the first magical visit to India, Tamil Nadu and its people have become not a mere travel destination but a home. Divine inspiration brought about the fruition of the Non-profit Siva Vishnu Yoga Centre and Alagar Ashram. Located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, it offers free yoga classes, free medical camps, and financial assistance to students and senior citizens in need. Hannah and her husband Govindaraj co-run the non-profit and split their time between India and America. More information about Yoga Teacher Trainings offered at their ashram and guided retreats to India can be found at: www.FollowYourBliss.massageplanet.com & www.SriSivananda.org.
Craving to deepen her knowledge and skill in the world of the Healing Arts, Hannah completed courses in Traditional Thai Yoga Therapy in Chiang Mai, Thailand (2010). Continually being reminded that "everything is energy" has also led to her training in Reiki I & II (2011) which is incorporated into every session or class she offers. Hannah is currently also pursuing her Reiki Master training, studies in Shamanism, and a Master of Intuitive Sciences Certification in Madison, WI.
